Authorities in Escambia County are investigating a tragic case that appears to be a murder-suicide discovered Monday morning at a home in McDavid. The victims have been identified as Terrance Coyne, 32, and his wife, whose name has not yet been publicly released.
According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO), deputies were called to a residence in the 700 block of Century Boulevard on Monday, October 6, after receiving a welfare check request from the male victim’s father. The concerned family member reported being unable to reach his son and requested that deputies check on him and his wife.
When deputies arrived at approximately 11:35 a.m., they found two vehicles parked outside the home, but no one responded to repeated knocks at the door. After entering the residence, deputies made a grim discovery — two deceased individuals, a man and a woman, inside the home.
Evidence Points to Murder-Suicide
Both victims appeared to have suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Following an initial investigation by the ECSO Crime Scene Unit and Major Crimes Division, detectives determined that the incident was domestic-related and that the woman allegedly shot and killed her husband, Terrance Coyne, before turning the gun on herself.
While the exact motive has not been disclosed, investigators confirmed that no other individuals were involved and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The sheriff’s office continues to gather evidence and interview those who knew the couple as part of the investigation.
