The Massapequa community is mourning the tragic death of Haley Singh, a beloved Long Island teenager who passed away last weekend in what has been described as a heartbreaking case of suicide. Haley, remembered for her warmth, compassion, and bright spirit, was a sophomore at St. Anthonyโs High School and a proud graduate of St. Rose of Lima School, Class of 2024.
The news of her passing has left both school communities โ and all who knew her โ in deep grief.
A Cherished Member of Two School Families
In an emotional statement shared by St. Rose of Lima School, where Haley spent her formative years, faculty and staff reflected on the profound impact she made during her time there.
โOur hearts are broken today as we share the news of the passing of Haley Singh, a beloved member of our community, SROL Class of 2024 and a Sophomore at St. Anthonyโs High School,โ the school wrote. โWe will forever cherish the light and spirit Haley brought to our school. Her impact on her classmates, teachers, and the entire SROL Family will never be forgotten.โ
The message concluded with a call for compassion and prayer:
โWe are sending all our love and deepest condolences to her family during this unbelievably difficult time. Please keep Haley and her loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.โ
A School Community in Mourning
At St. Anthonyโs High School, where Haley was in her second year, the Friar community also came together in shared mourning.
โPlease pray for the repose of the soul of Sophomore Haley Singh,โ the school announced. โToday we mourn as a school community and remember the lasting impact Haley will have on her classmates, her teachers, and the entire Friar Family.โ
The message concluded with a prayer:
โEternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.โ
A Life Remembered
Haley is being remembered as a kindhearted young woman who radiated joy and compassion to everyone she met. Friends describe her as someone who always went out of her way to make others feel seen and included โ the kind of person who would brighten a room simply with her presence.
Teachers and classmates from both St. Rose of Lima and St. Anthonyโs recall her as a hardworking student, a loyal friend, and a person of great character and empathy.
